Welcome to the Union Local School District. “The Home of Jets” where pride, spirit and tradition are the bywords of our school in which the entire community takes pride.
The Union Local School District is comprised of hard working people in a rural area encompassing one hundred (150) square miles and several proud communities: Centerville, Belmont, Bethesda, Morristown, Flushing, Holloway, Uniontown, Jacobsburg and Lafferty. The High School (9-12), Middle School (6-8) and Elementary School (PreK-5) are located on a beautiful 100+ acre state of the art campus.
Construction started in May of 1996 on a new High School and Elementary School and also extensive remodeling to the former High School to house the Middle School. The massive project was made possible by the support of our taxpayers and the Ohio Schools Facility Commission.
Our Fiscal Year 2007 per pupil expenditure is $8,382.54 and similar district’s average is $8,062.91. Our revenue sources are: 67.40% (state funds), 24.20% (local funds) and 8.40% (federal funds). Our District enrollment is currently at 1518 students PreK-12.
Our District is proud of the fact that we can maintain a 15.44 to 1 student/teacher ratio. There are 126 certified staff and 60 classified staff who maintain a high standard of professional ethics and that have a caring attitude towards our children.
