The Union Local Middle School staff very much values your child’s education. We are here to assist you and your child in achieving academic success! We believe that parents play a vital role in their child’s educational success. For this reason, your involvement is both encouraged and needed!
We offer many resources to enhance education and promote parental involvement such as Progress Book, Study Island, and After-School Intervention. Progress Book is a program that allows parents to stay informed on their child’s academic progress throughout the school year. You can access your child’s grades anytime when you visit this site by simply clicking on Progress Book Parent and then clicking on Union Local. You must have a progress book username and password. The school has provided your child with this information. However, if you do not have this information, you may call the middle school and we will gladly give this information to you.
Another great feature I encourage you and your child to utilize is the Study Island Program. This is a great program that not only reinforces the concepts (state indicators) taught here at school but also prepares your child for the Ohio Achievement Assessments. Again, this requires a username and password. We have provided your child with this information.
Along with Progress Book and Study Island, we also have an after-school intervention program. This program reinforces classroom instruction, re-teaches needed skills and assists students with homework. After-School Intervention is available to all students daily. The school provides your child with transportation. If you wish to have your child participate in this program, please call the school and request the permission slip. In addition to academic programs, we offer many extra-curricular activities such as basketball, football, cross country, track, volleyball, band, choir, history club and student-council.
