Public School Choice (PSC) - Parent Information

Union Local Elementary School has been identified as failing to make NCLB Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) for two or more consecutive years. (ODE provides summary and historical data to make these determinations.) Subsequently, Union Local Elementary School has been placed into School Improvement (SI) status and required to offer students the opportunity to transfer to another school through Public School Choice program. 2007-2008 Eligible Students 630 Students Particpating in PSC 0 2008-2009 Eligible Students 682 Students Participating in PSC 0 Ohio Department of Education Public School Choice Information Supplemental Education Service (SES) Under the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act, school districts in second year School Improvement Status are required to provide parents and their children with the option of using supplemental educational services to help their children. Parents who meet the income limits qualify for free tutoring for their student(s).
