We have a large number of old textbooks at ULES we are no longer using. These books will be free for children to take home starting Wednesday, December 14 through Tuesday, December 20. If any of you know of charities or other schools that could use these books, please give the contact information to Mr. Bowling. We have already checked with many local organizations and websites that buy old textbooks and have not been able to sell or give them away. After Tuesday, the left over books will be recycled.

Two Big Charity Drives!
02 November 2011
ULES will once again participate in the canned food drive. Canned goods and other non-perishable items can be brought to school starting Monday, November 7 through Monday, November 14.
The second charity drive is from the Eastern Ohio Charity Association. This will be our 3rd year participating in their toy drive. Donated items from this drive go to needy families in our area. We are once again competing with Barnesville Elementary to see who can bring in the most toys. We won the first year but lost last year by a very close margin. Let's do what we can to beat Barnesville and help improve the holidays for those less fortunate.

PTO Fall Fest
17 October 2011
This year's PTO Fall Fest was another great success. Students and their families got to spend three hours having fun together in the ULES cafeteria, gym and surrounding hallways. There were inflatables, games, contests, good food and the ever popular cake walk. ULES would like to thank the PTO, espescially Alice Miner for heading up the Fall Fest committee. Special thanks also go out to Amy Vingino, Shelly Studenc, Julie Kildow, Chris Bonnette, Tina Talarovich, Sonya Logan, Crystal and Rocky Ray for spending a good bit of their time helping set up and clean up for all the fun. We would also like to thank all the corporate sponsors that donated materials for raffles.
5th Grade Native American Models
14 October 2011
5th Graders made models of Native American structures and displayed them in the red wing hall. It was obvious that a good deal of hard work and creativity went into each of these models. Good job kids!
