April 6, 2021

Good Morning,

The Union Local School District has 3 new confirmed cases of COVID.  There is also one active case within the district.  There are two new cases of COVID in students at Union Local High School.  There is also one  active case in the high school building involving a student.  There is one new  case of COVID  in a  student at Union Local Elementary.  Thus there are a total of four active cases in students within the district.

Families are asked to report any positive cases of COVID within their child to their respective child’s school nurse.  Also, if the child may have been considered a close contact of someone with a positive case this should be reported to the school nurses.  They can be accessed by the building numbers or by calling Union Local Elementary number is 740-526-6832 or the  Union Local Middle and High School number is 740-526-1409.

In addition to the above information, the district is requesting that families continue to complete daily at home monitoring of children prior to them coming to school.  It is of the utmost importance that these steps be completed

DAILY AT HOME SYMPTOM MONITORING

Families should  not send a child to school if any of the above symptoms are present in a student.  Families should seek guidance from their child’s respective school in return to school protocol.  This can be obtained by speaking with the building nurse.    Any loss of taste or smell will require a student to complete quarantine protocol even without a COVID test.   Anyone who has been exposed to a positive case of COVID should contact the numbers above prior to sending their child to school.

Sincerely,
