ULSD Safety Director Mike Menges Announces New Traffic Patterns for Drop Off at ULHS and ULMS

Union Local High/Middle School is going to change traffic patterns for student drop-offs, buses, student drivers, and staff starting on Tuesday, September 7.  This change is due to traffic backing up on Route 149 and Route 40 between 7am and 7:30am on school days.

There will be no change to afternoon dismissal.  Buses will continue to pick up students in front of the high school.  Parents will continue to pick up their children in the main parking lot.

1.  DROP-OFF’S  Middle school and high school student drop-offs will enter at the light, take the left at top of the hill, and then take the first left to go around the front of the high school.  Students will be dropped off in front of the commons.  Cars will be restricted to a single lane (NO PASSING).  After dropping off their child, parents will proceed to the exit across from Doan Ford.

2.  BUSES  Buses will enter at the entrance across from Doan Ford and proceed to the end of the bus ramp beside the middle school.  Students will exit the bus and proceed down the sidewalk to the entrance by the middle school cafeteria.  During inclement weather, bus students will enter at the T entrance by the 6th grade hall.  After dropping off students, buses will either return to the bus garage or proceed around the back of the school to the light.

3.  STUDENT DRIVERS  Students driving to school will enter at the entrance across from Doan Ford and proceed to the parking lot.  Students WILL NOT be permitted to park in the gravel parking lot as the buses will be unloading in this area.  Student drivers and their passengers will enter school through the commons entrance.

4.  STAFF  Staff parking in the middle/high school parking lot will enter at the entrance across from Doan Ford and proceed to the parking lot.  Staff parking behind the school will enter at the light.
