Welcome to Union Local School District!

As the proud home of the Jets, our school district embodies the spirit, pride, and tradition that unite our entire community.

Our district spans 150 square miles and includes several vibrant communities: Centerville, Belmont, Bethesda, Morristown, Flushing, Holloway, Uniontown, Jacobsburg, and Lafferty. Our state-of-the-art campus, situated on over 100 beautiful acres, houses Union Local High School (grades 9-12), Middle School (grades 6-8), and Elementary School (PreK-5).

Construction on our new High School and Elementary School began in May 1996, along with extensive remodeling of the former High School to accommodate the Middle School. This significant project was made possible by the unwavering support of our taxpayers and the Ohio Schools Facility Commission.

In 2009 and 2011, we partnered with the OSFC again as a Look-Back District. This initiative included replacing the Middle School roof, upgrading fire alarms district-wide, waterproofing exteriors, repairing stucco, installing a keyless entry system, replacing some pavement and catch basins, and replacing the shingle roof on the Elementary School.

Our Fiscal Year 2016 per pupil expenditure is $8,945.53, compared to an average of $9,743.88 in similar districts. Our revenue sources are 55.37% state funds, 36.48% local funds, and 8.15% federal funds. We currently serve 1,544 students from PreK through 12th grade, with detailed enrollment numbers across each grade level. Among our students, 489 receive free lunch, 125 receive reduced lunch, and 247 attend special education classes.

We take pride in maintaining a 20:1 student/teacher ratio. Our dedicated team includes 112 certified staff and 67 classified staff, all committed to professional excellence and caring for our students. With outstanding facilities, a comprehensive curriculum, and a dedicated staff, we strive for excellence in all that we do.

We are the Jets – Jet Think. Jets Care. Jets Aim High.
